After four and half of dedication and practicing under Deborah Hinojosa and Shirley Fleming, Amy decided she wanted to share her passion with others and became a yoga instructor.

Hanna began her fitness journey -- with absolutely no athletic background -- at the belated age of about 17 years old as a means to combat the common self-esteem issues young girls have with themselves. Just a few years later, yoga provided a way to approach this lifestyle much more healthily. She was making her way through her second year of obtaining her Bachelor's degree when she was given the opportunity to open herself up to sharing her love of practicing yoga with others as a teacher at the on-campus recreational center. Strengthening the body while also maintaining the proper balance of flexibility along with it in order to feel your absolute best in your very own body is the most important aspect of teaching for Hanna. Accessibility to people of all fitness levels is also a theme that is always present in her classes. Having constantly battled with body image, yoga has managed to give her a place to fully accept and appreciate with utmost gratitude the physical form of the human body.
I started out teaching high school English, I have a Bachelors degree in English, and craved a more alternative type of teaching. I began practicing yoga for my own well-being and discovered how beneficial it was for others. I decided to combine my love of teaching, yoga, and spirituality and got certified through Yahweh Yoga, LLC. I am certified as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and Yahweh Yoga Teacher (YYT-200). Yoga is helping me battle my anxiety and depression, so in my class you can expect focus on breathing through the flow in order to help relieve stress. In my class I also like to focus on meditation, sometimes guided healing meditation, and uplifting quotes or scripture. Yoga is not merely an exercise to me; it is vital nourishment for the mind, body, and soul.
